Other then ensuring it fits into the space available I wanted to ask if there is anything in particular I should look for?

Manufacturing materials, makes?

I will need a riser kit to allow room for the trap but otherwise I'm pretty clueless.

Are the doors/panel specific for a tray or can I buy what I like the look of?

Are particular designs more prone to leak?

It will be fitted into a corner to I guess I want one with two up-stands to tile over and guard against leaks.

Many thanks

The Mira trays are good but a bit pricey, just go with the best, most solid tray you can afford. Avoid internet shopping, go into a plumbers merchant and have an actual butchers at some

I'm going with a Mira Flight Square shower tray with 2 upstands.

Anyone fitted one before? Any issues?

Excellent bits of kit and they come with a waste fitting.
I raised mine on a timber plinth rather than using a raising kit though.

I used 3x2" tanalised, lifting the tray 3" so I could access the drain. The frame supported the tray in all areas and I kept it slightly short (3mm) of the tray dimensions. As the floor was laminated, I continued the laminate up the sides of the tray to finish it off.
I've also used white plastic and solid oak to cover the frames in the past.
