I have a huge number of wooden casement windows I want to draught proof. I have decided that foam or rubber options behind the window just make it difficult to close if you a full / no gap fit. While I'm not averse to using them altogether I think a good weather pile system is on balance preferable.

But I'm lost looking at all the options on offer from companies like Schlegel. Weather pile with fin vs without fin? Single fin vs double or more? Shape of pile. The list is endless. How do you decide what's the best option?

I would happily contract out this work but I'm finding it near impossible finding someone competent to help. I trialled one guy who specialised in sash window repair and draught proofing only to find the window still draughty! He came back and corrected it a bit which improved things (still a tad draught on windy days) but I've lost confidence.

Am desperate for some advice. Help!!
