Sorry Doggit, I'm new here (despite joining a year ago :p) so not up to date. Will bare this in mind.

I exect it'll take a lot longer before you get you're sense of humour twisted out of shape. Now check out the difference between bare, and bear - no offence meant.

Well spotted on the typos EFL, I know the difference, but still have to hang my head in shame.

Now does anyone know how to get the damned spellchecker working in Firefox.

Ah, funny you should say that. Mine has recently stopped working in both Firefox and Chrome.

I have looked it up (I'm not a tech wiz) to see if anything can/should be done and it is enabled as it should be.

As long as I remember it used to underline mistakes in red, then a little while ago it started underlining in barely visible grey.
Now nothing - unless it underlines in the same colour as the page.

I love Christmas , but have to agree, it's become far too commercialised. I usually put myself down to work any Christmas shifts on our ward. Absolutely love it. Ward get's decorated for Christmas and our hospital has a competition for the best decorated ward. (came third last year, so hoping for something better this year) If you're on night shift on Christmas Eve, you get to play "Santa" for the patients. If you're on the day shift, you get the chance to watch/ help them open their presents. Help them with their Christmas dinner. (yep they too get turkey and all the trimmings) Once their loved ones arrive, you get to watch them opening more pressies. It's a great time of year. A completely different atmosphere on the ward at Christmas.. Usually loads of chocs, biscuits etc for the ward staff. Last year I worked Christmas and Boxing day (as I do most years now) Also had to work New Years Eve night shift (bit of a downer that one as I'd requested that one shift off) This year, if I can't work Christmas Day on my own ward, I'm going to work a bank shift, hopefully on one of the children's wards, or almost any other ward/ department. (there are a few that us nurses don't particularly like working on)

Had the misfortune to be a long term patient in at Christmas.

There were no decorations (infection control), no turkey and trimmings, same atmosphere and no chocs or biccies. Mrs Secure brought in a dinner for me which cheered me up no end!

I think I want to be one of Judy's patients over the festive season. Sounds better than being at home...

Christ ,, how sad. Our hospital has a positive attitude towards Christmas. There are a few wards where decorations can't be put up (ICU and some of the surgical wards) but everywhere else is awash with brightly decorated everything. Last year , one of the childrens wards was transformed into Santa's Grotto (complete with cardboard reindeer and a "real " Santa. It was almost unrecognisable as a hospital ward. One of the elderly support wards was made into a great replica of a cruise ship at Christmas (even had portholes etc) the ingenuity of the staff never cease to amaze me. Brilliant what they can do with cardboard, paper and paint.

I don't want to be nasty but -

I thought you were understaffed, overworked and had not a minute to spare.
