I'm fitting a new self contained power shower fed by 15mm chrome Pipes. Question regards joining the pipes:
Soldered and pushfit joints - I presume I need to remove some of the chrome plating before soldering/pushing - whats the best method?

Thanks in advance

For Pushfits or solder, use emery cloth or a file. You can get chrome solder joints if you try- quite hard!

I agree with allenvb. I've used chrome pipe with compression joints and had no problem. I do suggest copper olives, they are softer than brass and don't over tighten them. Better to under tighten them and have a small leak, then tighten till leak stops.

Little tip if using pushfit on chrome:-put pipeslice on pipe about half an inch from the end and rotate once around pipe so as to make a fine groove in pipe .Gives o-ring something to grab at and helps stop it sliding off. But dont use pushfit unless no other option.
