I'm guessing the answer like most things in life is yes, but i just want to check.

Just over three year ago i brought a chrome curved towel radiator off the internet that was cheap, even by my standards but looked the part. Now its going badly rusty where the horizontal bars join the verticle ones - its got to go!

Is this a common problem with chrome ones, am i better to go down the painted white route, or should i just expect to pay a decent price for one - any recommendations of where would be appreciated

Cheers!

The painted white ones do it too!
Often it's a sort of plastic paint, which grows a huge blister.

Unpredictable - look for a long warranty?

Yep white one end up like a shattered glass effect on them .
Have had a screwfix one in mine for 5 years and its as good as new and fitted quite a lot of them with no complaints of rust

It does seem that you get what you pay for with towel rails.
Good quality rails cost a lot of money.
The better ones are usually made of chrome plated brass and not chrome plated steel.
The cheap ones dont seem to like areas of high humidity (bathrooms)!
