Hi - I needs some advice on repairing a rather noticable cigarette burn in a sofa! I have read the comments re using Borax - but does this work on dark coloured fabrics? I am scared it will make it worse! help :?:

If the cigarette burn is on the arm then you can buy arm covers or why not give up smoking then you can afford a new settee

why not try any "suggestions" on the back or some other place it will not be seen if it goes wrong

Do another one on the other arm and pretend it's a pattern......

.... or get it re-upholstered on the arm panel, a good upholsterer should be able to do it fairly cheap.

covers on the arms are quick but may make you look like you've stolen the settee from the Royle Family ;)
