What circuit is the 3 way valve actuator in the airing cupboard likely to be on? I need to change one tonight, so I am hoping it's on the Ring Final sockets, not the lights! I have a voltage meter to check for dead when I start isolating.

Thanks

But it's unlikely the heating will have it's own dedicated circuit at the CU? Are most heating controls spurred into the one of the final ring socket circuits? I was planning to isolate at the CU.

The Congo is in the tropics. Why the hell do you need to fit a frost stat there????

I'm beginning to think you are lying about your location..

My heating has its own dedicated circuit.

You'll have to find where it is fed from and isolate at that point.

The reason I said NOT to isolate by switching off the programmer is because you may have a frost stat taken direct from the live feed that overrides the programmer controls.

Most valves will have a permanent live to the microswitch for boiler/pump triggering. (Orange or grey, I can never remember which way round it's supposed to be without checking)

The central heating should also have it's own switch fused spur, regardless of whether it on a ring, dedicated circuit or otherwise.
