Rating of RCDs will depend on the load.

All new work (including change of consumer unit) has to comply with current regulations.

For BS7671 (2008) in most domestic premises that means 2 RCDs or a mix of RCDs and RCBOs (or all RCBOs if you are rich).

If that was installed only 5 years ago then it did not comply with the regulations then and certainly doesnt comply with them now.

You have a straight consumer unit with no potential to make it comply unless you go to all RCBOs.

Per the above posts, this is prohibitively expensive and Volex make it a nighmare to do. You're best option would be to get a registered electrician to install a nice new one that complies with the new (well not new) regulations.

If you don't know one, select two or threee from www.competentperson.co.uk and get quotes.
