I'm betting no one is going to be able to help here, but thought it was worth a shot.

We cut down a silver birch tree recently and have left the stump in. We would like to convert it into a outdoor table. We'd like to find a large tree base thats been sawed across so a 2-3 inch thich base of a large tree to use for the table - anyone any idea where I could get one without doing it myself haha ?

you would need quite a substantial frame at the top will have limited strength
also that size off timber is very very likley to open up/crack in several places
appart from that you will be hard pushed to get silver birch of any great size

ok read your question again are you after a"mushroom " table!!
my comments still apply

phone up your local tree surgeon,or council for help/advice.
