Cistern handle - Loose & Wobbly

Evening guys

Wonder if anyone can help, I fitted a new cistern handle today but it is..

A) wobbly & B) sitting a a higher angle than the previous handle.

Part of the issue may be that the metal rod & handle swivel independently of the threaded UPVC male so when the Male is tightened down, (clear washer & nut) the metal rod and handle wobble.

What am I missing?

The metal C link which goes between top of the syphon and the plastic lever on the handle shaft appears to be too short. They are available in various lengths, as an example:

That should fix the angle of the lever but I can't work out why it is wobbly.

Ahh, didn't realise these came in various sizes, thanks for that.

Sometimes there’s a circlip that goes on the end between the bush and metal handle rod.

Or, you can make one to suit, from galvanised metal coat hanger wire.
