Perhaps they meant composite and took that to mean plastic?
As catlad's a roofer I think he means external tiles.
No she sent me a picture and I thought it was a grey plain tile dormer, but she assures me it a PVC cladding of some kind.
Thanks ill check that out.

And she doesn't know what product it was a photo of?
Could it have been vinyl siding on a US house?
