I am considering geting a Clarke CR2 (2100 watt) 1/2" router.
Don't have a lot of work for it so cost is a major factor.
I have one worktop to cut for a sink so I assume I need a machine with a bit of gut.

Any comments on the Clarke router ?

Yeh you will need 1/2 inch for worktops, with about 1600w being the bare minimum rating.
You could hire one but will still need to buy a new cutter, which will be shagged once you've cut the sink hole.

Is it a recessed sink? If not then jigsaw it, no point spending money for a one off job.

Don't own any Clarke but I would say they are cheap and cheerful, probably fine for diy and light usage.
