I just recieved a machine mart catalogue and was wondering if the clarke tools were any good? There's a lifetime guarantee on some socket/spanner etc. sets, which is good enough for me! Does anyone else have any experience of their tools, especially power tools.

Cheap and cheerful , I have a 6inch bench plane and it works fine though the locking mechanism for the blade guard constantly works loose so you have to keep an eye on it as well as you fingers. ;)

I have some clarke spanners that are very nice, all the power tools i have had, have had problems and have been repaired and modified

I have Clarke welders and a compressor but I prefer branded spanners such as Halfords professional range.
A belt linisher and a grinder are ok too.
A Clarke allen key set sheared and nearly cost me an eye
For the odd specialist tool I go for the Laser range these days, if I can.
John :)

Yeah, they're fine. Cheap so don't expect them to last forever. For occasional use and to beef up your toolshed, grand.
