Cleaning a CPU

When cleaning old thermal paste / pad from a CPU normally I use sterile wipes.


Would using TFT screen wipes do any harm to the face of a CPU?

Harm? No. Leave residue affecting thermal resistance? Probably.

Whether that matters or not depends on the heat you intend to dissipate. Probably doesn't matter a bit to what you've got.
