cleaning cardinal red floor tiles

i have some cardinal red floor tiles.they were underneath carpet originally.i pulled the carpet and underlay up,but some sticky solution remained.A freind said use nail varnish remover,which got rid of the sticky stuff,but left a white mark which i cannot remove.tried white spirit soapy water to noavail.can anybody help please.ta

the white marks are probably the acetone affecting any polish that may be on the tiles you could try stripping them back with a 10:1 ammonia sloution even as strong as 5:1 make sure you rinse them well and then reseal with something like HG Golvpolish or Klear.
It may work and shouldn't cause any damage but I would try an inconspicuous area first.
Putting nail varnish remover to anything should always be approached with caution anything with plastic or wax in it will ussually cloud as you described
