I am adding on a new system soon to my exisiting microbore system, I live in a hardwater area and want to make sure the rad pipes are as clean as possible before adding to them, the boiler is 1 year old but pipes about 20 years.

What chemical can I use to blast the pipes out, and is this ok to do with a new boiler????

with a microbore system I would go for a machine flush rather than a chemical one. But if you still want to use a chemical try X400.

You may find there's next to nothing in the microbore pipes. Any crud will settle where water velocities are low, principally the base of radiators. The high water velocity in microbore militates against deposition of corrosion deposits. Why not isolate a section and undo a joint to check?

As for scale, this is unlikely to figure since heating systems normally function without any water change. Only the small amount of scale in the original system water (and subsequent refills) will ever enter the system. Scale is only likely to be a problem in domestic hot water systems where fresh water is constantly introduced.
