Do I need a special tool for clearing out my square profile roof gutters, which are caked up with soil? My small trowel is too wide.
Maybe I could use something else in my toolkit?
Started the job today and just scooped out as much of the soil with my hand as I could. Then went along the gutter giving multiple flushes with a watering can.
A lot of going up and down the ladder. Fortunately it is a bungalow.
Doing the other side tomorrow, so long as it does not rain.

google pro gutter cleaning tool. They do a range of gutter profiles.

Why not use a filling knife at a slightly jaunty angle to push it to a critical mass that you can scoop out.

Bungalow easier to do , remove end caps and flush thru with a hose into bucket .
If dry I use a garden leaf blower with waste pipe attached with swan neck to blast out the gutters ( don’t need a ladder on my bungalow).

Hose pipe ban in Yorkshire at the moment :(
Managed to empty some big stuff with my hand, then used a soft brush, followed by a flush with a watering can.
The muck was only deep at the end opposite to the fall pipe.

Hose pipes can be used for cleaning gutters even during a hose ban.
