Click clack basin waste

Hi,
I've ordered a new basin that recommended a certain click clack waste, and my monobloc mixer is supplied with a pop up waste, if I'd rather use the click clack is it just a case of not fitting the rods for the pop up waste and install the tap as normal thanks in advance

I think that would be fine as long as the rod was at the back so you can't see the hole.

I'm guessing the rod is at the back, as I can't see it in the pictures, so thanks for your input
