Hi All,

Have just had a new bathroom fitted, including with the 'Vitra' Berwick close coupled pan & cistern inc. top flush.

Question is....when the short flush is operated it gives quite a loud thump noise as the seal closes and shuts the water off.

I asked the fitter who just said, its when it shuts the water off!

I can't imagine that this is normal, all is ok when a full flush is made.

Any advice would be must welcome.

I also wondered if 'Capital Bathrooms' could through any light on this, as they

were the supplier. (good supplier) I'll send an e-mail.

cause it will make aloud thud as it closes on half flush as the cistern is still half full and the weight of the water when the mech closes.
on full flush the cistern is empty so has no water weight on the mech when it closes.

Thanks for your answer, but its not much use having a short flush if it

makes a loud-ish thud and you feel you don't want to wake all the family and neighbours at night. (haven't yet that i know of)

Perhaps I'll wait for any complaints, before doing anything!

Just wasn't expecting this thud, perhaps I'll get used to it.

Thanks again.
