Hi,

I have recently had my old Back boiler removed and replaced with a new Combi Boiler which is located elsewhere.

I intend to brick up the opening in the chimney and include an airbrick for ventilation

Before I brick it up, as you can see from the picture below there is still a flue liner in the chimney, that was previously attached to the back boiler.

What i need to know is if the liner needs to be removed before the opening is closed.

As if it does I will need to get someone to go on the roof and remove it.

Thanks

Haven't heard it rattle yet.

I can hear a sort of howling noise coming down it when the wind gets up though.

get it out and have the top of the chimney properly vented ;)
