Can anyone give me a good way to get rid of clover in my lawn?

How big is the lawn? How vast is the area of clover? How thick is the area of clover??????????

The area is about 100ft sq and I have a couple of areas of quite thick clover about 1ft sq. I have tried pulling it out trying to get back to the roots but it keeps coming back, hence the cry for help.
