Hi all,
I’ve recently started getting into CNC milling as part of a small workshop setup and I’m trying to improve the accuracy and finish of my work. I’m using a standard 3-axis CNC mill and wondering what makes the biggest real difference in results.
Is it mainly tool quality and cutting speeds, or do things like workholding, machine calibration, and software settings matter more in practice?
Also, any tips for reducing vibration, chatter, and tool wear during longer runs would be really helpful.
I’m still learning, so any real-world advice from people with experience would be appreciated.
