A flavel richmond is an inset gas fire, and cannot be fitted into an arched cast. So either you have mis stated the product, or your terminology is wrong. No offence. Or I have misunderstood.

Is the fire this:

Why would you want to?

Gas fires are instant heat and clean burning.

Coal is messy. All that lighting, cleaning, waiting for heat. No way.

If you have a class one flue, it could be reinstated for coal ..........but the hearth, surround, back panel would all have to removed and the hearth and anyfire place would have to be suitable for solid fuel.

In a nutshell its possible but its not as simple a job as you may think !
