Hi,

I was looking for some ideas for warming up my conservatory. I have tiles (which I'm not really fond of anyway) on the floor and it gets freezing in there overnight, so I was thinking of putting some sort of layer (underlay) over the tiles and then either some carpet or some cork in the form of tiles or off a roll.

Any opinions on what I should use as a middle layer that will sit on top of the tiles and also and comments on the use of cork?

Thanks!

I'd just screed the tiles (the misnamed "self-levelling compound") and cover them with cork. I did that in our kitchen (scrappy stone flag floors which weren't worth sorting out) and it's a lot better. My tiles are about 1/2in (13mm) thick
