Cold draught coming in through cooker hood extractor fan

Hi all,

I have an extractor fan above the range that is letting cold air in through the extracting mechanism.

What is the best way to insulate this so that the extractor will still extract smoke / steam from cooking when switched on, but will not slowly kill me with pneumonia when its off?

I don't know, I didn't fit it and I haven't taken it apart (yet).
