Hi

I have some radiators not heating up properley at all. First time they have been on again since summer, but this problem was here last winter too. We have microbore pipework, and someone suggested I check or clean the manifold. Where is the manifold usually sited and how can I check this?

Is there anything else I can also check?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer me

Sorry but there is no hard fast rule as regarding the siting of manifolds. Well there is/was in a way in respect of the length of microbore pipe that could be run from the manifold, but these rules are rarelly adheared too.

I take it your circulation pump has been checked?
Hope that's some help.

If it is a blockage, the whole system needs cleaning. Could be the pump too, or both.

Thanks for your replies

The pump seems ok, all freed up etc, and other rads far away seem to heat up.

Can I use X400 to clean it? Or is that no good for microbore pipe?

Bear in mind that it only works when the heating is on, and if memory serves, x400 needs to stay in for two weeks.
