Evening all.

My cold water tank is continuously filling, no matter how high I lift the ballcock. The overflow is going bonkers, but I can see that is caused by the water line rising.
I'm assuming that the ballcock valve has gone, but have no idea on the best way to refit one, if it is definitely this or what sort of thing I may need.

Any advice would be massively appreciated!!

Cheers

Jaro.

Hi
It's not clear.
Is the water entering via the ballcock valve? If so a new valve from diy shop is best option if you intend to do it yourself.

Turn off the water.
You'll need a spanner or water pump pliers a new 1/2" fibre washer.
A part 2 valve.

Undo the pipe nut at the rear of the ball valve.
Loosen the nuts clamping the valve to the tank side.
Fit new valve.
Fit float.
Replace fibre washer.
Reconnect pipe nut and tighten.
Restore water.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

If the ballcock valve is the little tap thing on the inside of the tank, then yeah, it's coming in from that.

I think you've nailed it to be honest. I'll give it a go tomorrow. Thanks!

If its a brass unit just change the washer pence and a new split pin pence
no need to change the whole thing !
