i have just moved into an old house that seems to be fed from the stop cock with 15mm copper pipe. is this normal? would have thought it would be 25mm? also the cold water feed to the bath is 15mm.

at present there is a back boiler(gas) fitted. if i changed to a combi would i have any problems with teh feed only being 15mm?

Quite normal. Will probably be coming off a 3/4" lead pipe. Before putting a boiler in get a good plumber to check flow rate of your cold main. A lot of fly by night fitters will install a combi without even checking the supply is suitable. If it is don't worry about the 15mm cold to the basin should be fine. If its gravity fed at the moment it could do with upgrading if you have say an unvented system put in.

by unvented system i guess you mean a combi?

so what sort of upgrading would it take?

where should the 25mm pipe start and finish?

i will let you tell me rather than me start guessing if thats ok.
