I had the ball valve replaced on my cold water tank in the loft, gravity fed system, and now it is very noisy refilling after a shower, it’s like a loud hissing noise which it never made before. Any suggestions as to what the cause is or how to resolve thanks

Have you asked whoever fitted it why it makes the noise? Sounds to me like a possible Torbeck float valve was fitted.

Thanks I don’t have a photo but it was definitely a ball valve

So similar to the above?

Yep just like that which was what it replaced as well, I will ask the plumber but just curious as to what it is that’s causing it

If there's an isolator on the feed pipe, make sure it's a full bore one, and is fully open.
You can also adjust the angle of the white spout which could help.
John :)

Could be as above from @Burnerman, although it doesn’t have to be full bore, but fully open. Could be a faulty valve, hard to tell just from what you’ve told us.
