Had the usual tripping issue with the Suprima. Baxi out to me, new pcb £195, runs like a charm for 39 days, 11 days over the guarentee period.

Now back to its old tricks, but only when it's cold. The boiler (suprima 100) is mounted in the garage, which gets cold. When the temp drops in the garage (not even to freezing) the reset issue kicks off again.

Very weird.

Any ideas?

thanks

It may be that if you have a frost stat fitted with no return pipe stat that an overheat trip could be occuring.

28 days warranty on parts, what a joke, get onto trading standards, fit for the purpose and all that sort of thing, good luck.

I called Potterton/Baxi this morning re: my boiler. They're offering 28 days labour guarantee and 1 year parts guarantee. Therefore I guess you'd have to pay a call out charge to get them to look at it again. No idea how much £ that would be.

Ollski, you've lost me.

There is a frost stat but that noramlly kicks in at a much colder (ambient) temp.

thanks

Christ how cold does it need to be?....I am scraping ice of the van windscreen every morning, normally tour frost stat would be set between 1 and 5 degrees.

First the obvious check - is it overheating or not lighting in the first place. (Not too hard to tell, it'll either be hot or cold  )

If it isn't starting, problem likely to be condensation on the HT lead stopping the spark getting where it needs. Wrap a bit of pvc tape round the end of the lead where it plugs onto the bottom of the electrode - unless you have some silicone sleeving the right size to hand.

Or bellyache at Baxi and they might fit the latest board, harness, frame etc which comes with a proper HT lead.

Just had the latest board fitted so I suspect I have the latest HT lead.

Not necessarily - lots of old stock still about. Open the front and look for the pcb, if you can see it, not covered in a whitish plastic box, you have the older one.

Not going to help I'm afraid.... but I have the identical problem. New board worked for 4 days.... weather got a bit chilly.... CH starts playing up. Never happened in the summer/ autumn

Hope someone can help us.!
