Anyone else a fan? Thought I'd seen all of them (several times), but a friend of mine has the whole collection on DVD and there were a couple I'd not seen - partly because one of them is rarely shown and the other had never been broadcast in the UK due to it being related to gun running for the IRA.

The Gun Running episode being banned was probably due to Maggie Thatcher`s policy of banning any Publicity to the IRA.

The Film "Ryans Daughter" was banned on British TV despite it being shown numerous times before she brought in the policy, the ban was only lifted a couple or so years ago after the Peace Treaty, and the DVD of the film has now been re issued.

I loved watching it as a kid and even now when I see a car similar to his I always think to myself...'ooh, it's Columbo!'

It makes you wonder just how many episodes of various programmes we have actually missed over the years due to 'censorship'.

Funny you bring it up Dext. Er, I confess to falling in love with it again lately.

I can’t remember what station it’s on and I don’t make a point of finding it to watch or record. But when I come across an episode or see it on the guide that’s it! You ain’t getting me to do anything for the next 90 minutes, short of the house catching fire.
