It's like this,
my boiler (potterton puma 100e) fires up fine on demand but then it's a toss up between three different outcomes.
first is that the heated water doesn't leave the boiler atall and seems to simply circulate within the boiler (via diverter valve?) until the boiler thermostat says that's enough of that and switches off. This is the most common outcome.
second is the boiler fires up and sends hot water to the upstairs radiators and returns to the boiler (return flow hot) avoiding all the downstairs radiators.
third and very, very rarely, the downstairs radiators also get a slice of the action.
I've bought a new pump which I'm about to fit, but somehow I don't think that's the problem. Can anyone offer some ideas, please?
