I'm sure this is a classic symptom of a common fault in older boilers but would like to know what the fault is. Central Heating works fine, no probs. Hot water is very unpredictable but usually only works if 1. The heating has been on for at least 60 mins and 2. The tap/shower is only slightly on. As soon as the outlet is opened fully the water temp goes luke warm/cold. Glow Worm compact 100e is the offending piece of ****. Any ideas?

Most likely to be the PCB, the gas pressure usually is impossible to get higher than about 6 mb. Rgi time ;)

Yes, everything works as it should in terms of lights and the burner firing up. I have been told it is prob PCB but having the central heating on for an hour improves the hot water, would that be related to a faulty PCB? If the heating has not been on the water really struggles to get warm, never mind hot.

If the heating has been off then do the rads heat up a bit if you take hot water for a while like 20 minutes or longer?

Try it and see then.

Feeling the supply pipes may be easier.

Hi, have tried running the hot water for 20 mins. Neither rads or supply pipe got warm. Does that rule out what you were thinking?
