Hi again,
Planning a kitchen renovation my brother wants to fit a combi flueing sideways, but the exhaust is too close to an opener.
Our Corgi fitter suggests going up into the bedroom, and out, thich would be a pain.
However we could get the extra 2-3 inches if we could drill though at c 75-80 degrees instead of straight through at 90. (I appreciate it would increase the accuracy needed etc).
Is this ok?

Cheers for any advice: Harry

Any alterations to the flue ought to be done by a Corgi registered installer. There shouldn't be any problem in practice with going through the wall at an angle, but it might be best to check with manufacturer.

Generally the flue elbow will only screwed to the boiler at set positions. Best check with the manufacturer of the model in mind.

I've had to ask Halstead, Vaillant , Ideal, potterton and Worcester. They've all said yes eventually, but you need it in writing for the specific model.
Ideal were a real pain! More memorably because it was a woman, I was told about 6 times exactly what the instructions said. I had them in front of me of course.
