Is it common practice to combine (couple) a washing machine waste pipe and a kitchen sink waste pipe on the exterior of the kitchen so their is just one pipe leading down to the drain or is this bad practice?

Thanks for any advice.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Little confused when you say "on the exterior" ?

This is usually done under the sink next to the trap ?

I was just going to join one to the other on the outside wall. But if you recommend joining them on the inside then, I will do that. Will look better anyhow.

Thanks for the advice.

go to your local shed or plumbing merchant and ask for sink trap with washer inlet. only cost about £4.00
