combining concrete and paving blocks

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but has anyone ever combined driveway paving blocks (the ones that look a bit like bricks) with concrete?
I am thinking of concreting my driveway. I'd rather have the blocks because they look nicer, but I think concrete would be cheaper. So I thought maybe I could have patterns of blocks, e.g. diamonds or other shapes spaced out in the concrete. I have been searching for some pictures of something similar but can't find any.
Any advice or links to pictures would be appreciated.

thanks for that. It helps, but I haven't seen any with patterns in the middle rather than at edge.
