We are getting a built in shelving unit (3 metres across) put into our living room. We have had different quotes for different finishes, but don't really understand the difference between the finishes (i.e. the pros and cons). The finished colour is likely white.
We have been quoted for painting (i.e. oil paint), sprayed mdf, melamine faced birch plywood and a satin lacquer finish.
So, for finishes. it appears pricing goes as melamine < satin < paint < sprayed mdf.
Can someone give me a pros and cons for each?
