Not home plumbing obviously, but I was going to use copper pipes and solder up a water separator/cooler type radiator for spray painting to remove as much water as possible from the air lines. Like this.

Most people seem to have soldered up all the fittings whereas I'd planned on using compression pegler ball valves and either end, compression 1/2BSP onto quick release air fittings.

However, maybe compression isn't ideal? I'd find it hard to believe that one could blow off/come off though. So I was looking for opinions on it. If I was a bit more familiar with all the fittings/sizes I suppose using compression would be avoidable. Thoughts?

Compression is used on compressed air all the time.

Looks massively over complicated though.

Pressure need not be terrifically high coming out the compressor but I suppose it ought to be able to handle the sort of pressure the/a (smaller) compressor can deliver.

Seems a bit complicated but it seems to be a popular method of both cooling the air and letting water gather at the bases of the pipes, you then letting the moisture out.
