Have a a concealed cistern toilet the flush pipe would extend in to the pan by about 100mm before reaching a stop. But the rubber is only about 40mm. How far would you cut back the flush pipe in this scenario thanks

Does the rubber flush cone only go into the pan 40mm ? If so, cut the flush pipe so it's end sits at the inner end of the cone.
