I need to remove the silicone around a back to wall pan. To allow removable of the panel to assess the flush pipe. What's the best way of removing the silicone from the wooden panel? Or is it just cut it with a Stanley knife so can remove them silicone over the old silicone?

Yes, cut it carefully with a Stanley knife and then pull it off.
Once off then trim off and clean the pan and the wall of the residue, then reseal again when fitting back in.
