Concrete base :S sturggling with volume

Went onlien calculator and states i need just shy of 1tonne of dry mix in 25kg bags from the likes of wickes/b&q surely cant be right.

Im extending a concrete base. roughly a little 2x2m with 100mm (10cm) depth as shown,
Lost on how much all in one dry mix i should get to complete the job with a mixer?

anyone able to help / point me in the right direction ? online calcuators dont look/sound right? :S

You'll need 0.4 cubic metres approx 960kgs.

960kg / 25kg bags = 38.4

38.4 bags call it 39 x £5 per bag of 25kg dry mix = £195

Hmm i can get ready mixed at 1m3 for 180 delv without all the effort of mixing it....
There goes my do it myself and save some money option

Buying 25kg bags of dry mix is always going to be expensive. You'd be better off with a bulk bag of all in aggregate and some bags of cement, then mix those up. And you'll probably save even more if you get them from your local independent merchant.

Looks like i can get a tonne load (loose) of mixed ballast which isnt to back at £40 delv
and then id have to work how much cement i would need ... i dont mind having a little over as i need to set some posts also.
