Hi,

I’m going to lay some concrete edging (915mm x 150mm x50mm ) in the next few days. I’ve seen a few videos where the concrete is quite dry under the concrete edging blocks and then wetter for the haunching. Is this what I should be aiming for?

Many thanks,

Ed

It all needs to be firm-ish (semi-dry), yes. Even for the haunching.

Dry under the edging so it can be tapped downed to level and not just splodge out, haunching could be wetter to give a stronger mix and prevent breaking outwards if vehicle loading side pushout loads are excessive but in reality just go with one mix.
