Concrete slab shed base..

I have a 4" thick concrete slab on whoch I'm planning to build a shed. I understand it's best to place the footplates a couple of inches in from then end of the slab. But I'm keen to avoid water running down the walls and pooling on the edge of the base. I have two thoughts - 1) mount the footplates flush with the edge of the slab so the cladding overlaps the base. or 2) put a slightly sloped cement fillet around the outside of the footplate to drain the water off the base.

Thoughts or other suggestions welcome. I don't want to place the footplates that close to the edge as I don't want to run the risk of splitting the edge of the base when I put the anchor bolts in for the plates.
