A normal double roman tile weighs about 4.6 kilos each . So 400 comes in at about 1.8 tons.

1840kgs actually.

cool

Will go in the transit then, its a mwb semi high roof model.

Got to worth collecting, a steal at £40 the lot. Just need to get ridge tiles.

I've calculated 388 tiles for 40sqm (floor span is 30sqm) have a 75mm headlap.

right all

Picked them up today all in a transit, there is around 500 - 550 tiles.

400 are of one colour and 100-150 of another. All weathered granualr double romans.

Total cost of £65 inc fuel

Tomorrows job for my grafter is to take them out of the van and stack them in the garden

They will have to be taken to the back of the garden eventually.

"Won't they get wet if you leave them out like that?" -- A female friend of my brother, talking about the 3 crates of reclaimed slates he'd had delivered ;)
