Just been to look at a shower job at a council bungalow, the tenant is paying for the work himself, the council want to know all about what I am going to put in which is a total joke as the first thing I see when going round the back of the property is a condensate pipe from the glowworm boiler discharging above ground over a 3" hole chopped into the concrete path right next to the wall with a handful of gravel in it, the wall is starting to go green, surely when this boiler was put in "someone" inspected the work, I know our council is suppose to be a "green" council but green walls, dear oh dear.
I know the firm who fitted it as they bodge er I mean do all the councils gas installations.

No problem just inform them what you will be doing and add for information that you noticed the boiler installation does not meet good standards of workmanship.

What you have described may be difficult to class as contrary to any actual statutory regulations apart from MI and possibly Building Regs but you will waste a lot of time if you try to find the exact BR which has been infringed.

If you think thats a bad job, I saw one for Brent Council where the flue tipped down and was dripping condensate from the flue. The actual condensate pipe was in 15 mm Cu and projected horizontally about 450 mm at a height of about 1200 mm above ground and just dripped into the back garden!

Joke or what, why have inspectors if they are not going to bother, this is why I aint bothering with part p, nobody seems to be paying any attention to part a to zee on anything else.

done a couple of buderus condensors a while back for a firm of me consultants at their offices THEY INSISTED on the condense being run in 35mm copper to just outside the plant room and discharge onto the pavement.after i mentioned that it should be ran in plastic and discharge into a gully/soakaway.why was the reply LOOK AT THE INSTRUCTIONS AND THE RELEVANT BS oh said the consultant what chance have we got when these fools are in charge
