Condensation and mould problem in fitted wardrobe

F

Fulgo

Hi I am wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I live in a 1930s house, no cavity wall, ignorantly had a wall to ceiling fitted wardrobe built across an entire exterior wall which also has a chimney breast. There were no issues with condensation or mould anywhere in the house or that wall in the wardrobe prior to having it built. Just noticed mould on wall and clothes a couple of months ago. the wardrobe has not backing, just the wall.
I cleaned up the mould on the walls and cleaned the clothes. now keep doors of wardrobe open which has stopped mould from coming back, but not ideal.
Would providing insulation (lining the wall with polystyrene or thermal board) do the job or would I also need to provide vent holes for wardrobe?

thanks for any input.
