Condensation Outlet

I think taking 2 years to notice is an easy one to cover, until recently we haven't really gone out into the rear garden when the heating is on, there is no reason to go out there in cold weather. However now we've got the pupper we are obviously going out there very frequently, and hence there has been more opportunity to notice this.

In the open air, under winter freezing conditions, the condensate will freeze up

Gives plumbers a lot of work in the winter! -for the good plumbers, work Im sure they could do without but no doubt a nice earner for the emergency call out outfits and cowboys.

We had a hard cold spell this year -it happened a lot. I know of one customer that has a boiler in an unheated garage -the boiler started to freeze up!

A bit of trace heating is likely to prevent freezing, or fit a means to thaw out the condensate pipe if it does freeze. Either of those can save the cost of an emergency calll out
