Hello All,

Simple question. Is solvent weld conduit ok to use externally, secured to a fence/wall?

TIA, Jim

Yes, it's fine.

Your not meant to secure to fences really though - Should be a 'solid structure'. Depends how the fence is built I suppose!

On a long run, don't forget expansion couplers, and use some grease on this joint to keep it water tight, but still expandable.

....and outside black conduit lasts longer because it's not so badly affected by UV rays.

Although the white conduit is still UV stable ;-) It wasn't years ago, but is now.

Blimey, before you know it they will be putting cement dust in waterproof bags.

last i checked the diy stores were still putting it in paper bags,

i'd imagine the trouble with plastic bags is if any moisture did get in (either during packing or through damage later) then it could condense on the inside of the bag but i dunno for sure.

Cement-based products are packed in either plastic or paper outer with a poly liner, but in either case, they are perforated to allow breathing.
