If I go to "my computer
Add or remove programmes
Set prog access and defaults

Choose a configeration
The choice
1 Computer manufacturer
2 microsoft windows
3 Non microsoft
4 Custom

At present it is on custom
Anyone know if that is correct
As far as I know I have never knowingly altered it

I'd leave it set as it is, it basically sets things like outlook express for email and internet explorer for web browsing as your default programs.
