Confused over water pressure numbers

QUOTE="reg091, post: 4286556, member: 168692"]Oh yes. I am confusing myself now!
See ,this is what happens when you drink cold water from a tank ,the ability to see straight and think clearly is severely affected:LOL::LOL::LOL:[/QUOTE]

Specially when there's a few dead creatures floating around in it and I don't mean like the worm in a bottle of Tequila

On the subject of supplies, we first-fixed a big pad just before Christmas and was asked by the 2nd fix team if we could label up the multitude of feeds... There were hot, cold, unsoftened, heating, towel rails, ufh manifolds x 4 and recirc going across most of the floor plans... I labelled the unsoftened up as San Miguel :LOL:

But that would mean that every time we flush the toilet then the tank in the loft would fill and it doesn't.

Anything cold off that pump is tank fed... Suggest you do a bit more investigating... Maybe you have a 2nd cwt or you're just not noticing/hearing the short, quiet refill from a Bog flush!

I will investigate further but the tank filling is quite loud. Plus when you flush the toilets the pump comes on and remains on for the duration of the cistern fill. Unless the pump is pumping water up to the tank but I don't think it is as when the tank is filling the pump is off.

Sounds like a mickey mouse set up to me!

From the photos you've uploaded, there are a lot of pulled bends on the copper to and from the pump, plus a decent number of lever isolation valves on that pipework, which to my eye would suggest it was installed by a plumber who cared and was intent on doing the best install he could. On the other hand, the mid port valve has been fitted with tons of ptfe on the connections which is unnecessary... I bet the two tasks were not performed by the same plumber :)

Dilalio - credit where due. You are correct, all of the cold water in the house barring the kitchen tap is pumped from the tank.

I am hoping it is clean! It is difficult to get to as the "loft" space is tiny (used to be a bungalow so there isn't really a loft since they converted the roof space) but it is black plastic and appears to be wrapped in a sort of black plastic bag. It may have been installed in the 90's when the conversion was done but I hope it was upgraded when the pump was installed and all the bathrooms, shower room upgraded in the last five years.
